De Vuelta y Vuelta, Jarabe de Palo

As of yesterday, I have exactly three weeks left. Honestly, I can't tell you how I feel about that.

Part of me is undoubtedly happy - it will be great to return home to some semblance of reality for a little while, relax before ski and racing season hits full force. But I am starting to realize that I am a little scared of what reality will bring. I'm loving the fact that I can just travel all over Europe every weekend. People here are amazing. I love the fact I've been able to see so much of Spain, yet there's still so much I have yet to see. I still haven't seen Barcelona, Cordoba, Salamanca and so many other places. I'm not sure I'm willing to sit back and stay in the same general area for the next four months of my life. My Spanish has improved so much. I sound (apparently) like a Spaniard, I look like one too, I fit in. I honestly (provided I get peanut butter shipments at least once a month) think I could live here. Maybe not in Madrid, but in Malaga, or San Sebastian, or well, practically anywhere in Spain. So as excited as I am to see my family, leaving here will be just as hard as leaving Yellowstone was. But in a sense, that's a good thing. Now I know I have to come back. You have to come back to places you love.

Schools been, well school, so I won't bore you with tales of that. However, I will tell you that in my Spanish class, we've been watching a lot of movies to better understand the "Machismo" that used to exist in Spain. (Well, they say it used to exist in Spain, but really, it's still fairly prevalent.) These movies have been absolutely amazing. I think I'm going to be watching a lot more Spanish movies soon, many of their directors are incredibly talented.

This weekend, I joined my friend in the club that he works, catching up with people and dancing. The next night, a group of us headed to a small bar in a hostel to have some drinks. We ended up going on a pub crawl through our own "home"town. It was a lot of fun. Granted we had been to a lot of the bars before, a new crowd made it a lot of fun.

Sunday, it rained all morning, canceling my plans to go to the Rastro. Thus, I stayed home and did homework and skyped with my parents that evening.

Tonight, I have to get some work done before I join a friend for his birthday, so on this note, see everyone soon!
